Research Policy
Thiruthangal Nadar College (TNC) is committed to fostering a culture of
research excellence and innovation, contributing to the intellectual growth of
its academic community. This Research Policy is designed to provide a
structured framework to guide faculty, students, and researchers in
conducting high-quality, ethical, and impactful research. It ensures that all
research activities align with national and international standards while
addressing local, regional, and global challenges.
Objectives
Strengthening Institutional Capacity: This policy applies to all
research activities undertaken by faculty, staff, and students at
Thiruthangal Nadar College, including collaborative research with
external institutions, industries, and organizations. It covers the
entire research process, from proposal submission to dissemination of
results.
Research Governance: The research activities at TNC will be governed
by the Research Committee, which will oversee the approval, funding,
and ethical compliance of research projects. The committee will
ensure that research is aligned with the institution’s mission and
values.
Ethical Standards: All research must adhere to ethical guidelines to
protect participants, data integrity, and research integrity. Our
institution will ensure that all researchers are trained in research
ethics.
Funding and Support: Our Institution provides both internal and
external funding opportunities for research projects. Faculty and
students will be encouraged to apply for research grants,
scholarships, and fellowships.
Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Research: Collaboration within
and outside the College will be strongly encouraged to enhance the
interdisciplinary nature of research. TNC will actively seek
partnerships with other academic institutions, research organizations,
and industries to broaden research impact.
Dissemination and Publication: TNC encourages the publication of
research findings in reputed journals, conferences, and other
academic platforms. The College will also organize research seminars,
workshops, and conferences to provide opportunities for researchers
to present their work and exchange ideas.
Intellectual Property and Innovation: Researchers at TNC are
encouraged to engage in innovative research that leads to patents,
technologies, and other forms of intellectual property. The College will
guide researchers in protecting their intellectual property rights and
promote innovation that can benefit society at large.
Monitoring and Evaluation: The College will regularly monitor
research progress, ensure adherence to timelines, and evaluate
research outcomes based on their academic contribution and societal
