Red Ribbon club




The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a voluntary initiative under the National AIDS Control Programme, aimed at creating awareness about HIV/AIDS, blood donation, and healthy lifestyles among youth. The club empowers students to become peer educators in their communities and encourages active participation in social service.

Objectives

  • Red Ribbon Club is an initiative of the Government of India to enable the Students to create awareness about HIV/ AIDS.
  • The club encourages the students as peer educators of change both among youth as well as society at large by developing their skills on leadership, communication and team building.
  • The club promotes the values of service and develops healthy lifestyles among the students.
  • The club also emphasises the importance of voluntary blood donation and motivates voluntary blood donation among youth.
  • The club also induces among youth the spirit to help and support people affected with diseases like Cancer and HIV.
  • The club also encourages the students by conducting awareness programmes on HIV, awareness rally, human chain, awareness on World Aids Day and blood donation programmes.
